---

Copenhagen based sound artist and composer Sofie Birch works primarily with synthesizers and field recordings to create ambient and melodic sound collages. Sophie uses improvisation, analogue synthesis and instrumental experiments which are carefully fused into soothing minimal soundscapes.

She began releasing solo works in 2017 through Danish label Infinite Waves and in 2019 she released the albums Planetes through German label Seil, and Island Alchemy through California-based Constellation Tatsu.

When performing Sofie uses her surroundings and the impulses from her audience to build one-of-a-kind live shows. She has performed at venues such as MONOM (DE) and Roskilde Festival (DK).
